Jennifer Lin: piano magic

Composing a beautiful life from random pieces

When life goes to hell in Red Riding Hood’s basket, improvise. Take stock of your remaining pieces and put your life back together in a new way. One you might never have imagined. You may end up with a more beautiful rendition than the original composition someone else wrote for you to play.

Be sure to watch the last half of this video when Jennifer's improvisational piece brings people to tears. (About the 16 minute marker on the video if you don't have time to listen to the whole concert)

24 minutes

"Pianist and composer Jennifer Lin gives a magical performance, talks about the process of creativity and improvises a moving solo piece based on a random sequence of notes." She begins her performance with a piece titled Kaleidoscope by Josef Hofmann.
